Terms of service

The rules for using Outwordly, including free practice, annual memberships, cancellation, refunds, and your content.

Effective date: September 3, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Outwordly. By creating an account, installing the extension, starting a free trial, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Outwordly Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use Outwordly.

1. What Outwordly is

Outwordly is a language-practice service. You write your own thoughts in the language you are learning, mark missing expressions in brackets, learn the language you need, and try to recall it aloud.

The service may include a Chrome extension, website, account features, AI-generated feedback, transcription, recall evaluation, saved learning data, reminders, and paid memberships.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required where you live, and able to enter a binding agreement. If you use Outwordly for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.

You may sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.

Your account and membership are personal to you. Do not sell, lend, transfer, or share them.

3. Free introductory practice

Outwordly currently offers three completed introductory practice sessions without requiring a payment card. Nothing is charged during those free sessions.

The introductory offer is limited to eligible users and installations. It is not transferable, cannot be recreated by switching accounts, and cannot be combined with another introductory offer. We may deny, limit, or remove trial access when our systems reasonably identify repeated trials, abuse, fraud, or an attempt to bypass the trial rules.

Starting the free trial does not reserve a founding price or a place in a paid cohort. After the free sessions are used, you may subscribe at the paid price and availability shown at checkout.

At present, the trial may allow up to three sessions in a day. Other plan limits may apply, and we may change limits to keep the service reliable and fair.

4. Paid memberships

Annual billing

Paid Outwordly memberships are billed annually unless the checkout page says otherwise. The price, currency, taxes, and billing terms shown before you confirm checkout are the terms for that purchase.

Some annual prices are offered through limited founding cohorts. The current price and remaining availability may be shown in the product and on the website. Availability is not guaranteed until checkout is completed and accepted.

The annual price you pay at checkout remains your price for future renewals. If you later resume the same cancelled membership, the original paid price remains associated with that membership, subject to our ability to identify the original membership and any legally required changes.

Payment processing

Stripe processes payments and hosts the billing portal. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge the selected payment method for the annual membership and any applicable taxes or fees. Outwordly does not store your full card number or card security code.

Renewal and cancellation

An annual membership normally renews automatically at the end of each paid billing period. You can manage billing details, renewal, and cancellation through the Manage subscription button, which opens Stripe’s billing portal.

If you cancel before the next renewal, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You keep access through that paid period unless the product, Stripe, or applicable law says otherwise. Cancelling does not automatically create a refund.

You may resume a cancelled membership through the available Outwordly or Stripe flow. Resuming the same membership does not restart the introductory trial.

Refunds: Payments are non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law or expressly offered at checkout. Cancelling a membership stops renewal but does not automatically create a refund.

5. How you may use Outwordly

You may use Outwordly for personal language learning and other lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • break the law or violate another person’s rights;
  • attempt to obtain more than one introductory trial by switching accounts, installations, or identities;
  • interfere with, overload, probe, or circumvent limits or security controls;
  • reverse engineer, copy, modify, resell, or redistribute the service except where applicable law expressly allows it;
  • use automated methods to scrape, extract, or abuse the service;
  • upload malware, unlawful material, or content you do not have the right to use; or
  • use Outwordly to generate harmful, deceptive, abusive, or privacy-invasive content.

We may suspend or limit access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, our providers, or the public, including for fraud, abuse, security threats, or non-payment.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the writing, bracket meanings, recordings, messages, feedback, screenshots, and other content you submit (“Your Content”), except for rights you already grant to others.

You give Outwordly a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, modify as technically necessary, and process Your Content only as needed to:

  • provide and personalize the Write → Learn → Recall service;
  • generate feedback, transcription, and recall evaluation;
  • save, sync, restore, and display your learning history;
  • provide support and investigate bugs or abuse; and
  • protect, maintain, and improve the service using aggregated or de-identified information.

This license ends when the relevant content is deleted, except for copies that must remain in secure backups or records for legal, security, or dispute-resolution reasons.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit Your Content and that it does not knowingly violate law or another person’s rights. Do not include highly sensitive information unless you accept the risks of processing it.

7. AI-generated results

Outwordly uses AI to help identify missing language, suggest corrections, transcribe speech, and evaluate recall. AI results can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. Review suggestions before relying on them.

Outwordly does not promise that an AI result is a perfect translation, a complete explanation, or the only correct way to express an idea. The service is a learning aid, not professional translation, educational accreditation, medical advice, legal advice, or financial advice.

8. Feedback and public suggestions

If you send feedback, you allow us to use it to operate, support, and improve Outwordly. We may turn a suggestion into a public product item without identifying you, unless you clearly ask us not to or the law requires it. Do not submit confidential information in a public suggestion.

9. Outwordly’s rights

Outwordly, including its name, branding, software, interface, design, documentation, and non-user content, belongs to Byron Bay Group LLC or its licensors. These Terms give you permission to use the service; they do not transfer ownership to you.

If you send ideas or suggestions about Outwordly, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment, provided we do not use them to identify you or disclose Your Content contrary to the Privacy Policy.

10. Availability and changes

We work to keep Outwordly useful and available, but the service may be unavailable, delayed, limited, or changed because of maintenance, provider outages, network conditions, security incidents, or product decisions.

We may add, remove, or change features, plan limits, prices for new purchases, trial rules, and availability. Changes do not retroactively change a paid annual price except where required by law or clearly agreed with you. We will provide notice of material changes when required.

11. Ending use of the service

You may stop using Outwordly at any time. To request an export or deletion of your account data, contact hello@outwordly.app. We may verify that you control the account. Cancelling a membership and deleting an account are separate actions. Local browser data may need to be cleared by signing out, uninstalling Outwordly, or clearing the extension’s storage. Stripe and other providers may retain records they are legally required to keep.

We may suspend or terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, or non-payment. If we terminate a paid membership without your breach and the law requires a refund, we will provide the required refund.

Sections that should continue after the relationship ends include ownership, content permissions needed for backups or disputes, disclaimers, limits of liability, dispute terms, and any payment obligations already incurred.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Outwordly is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for every learning goal, or that AI output will be accurate.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

13. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Byron Bay Group LLC and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from your use of or inability to use Outwordly.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims connected with Outwordly will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for Outwordly in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or $100 USD.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including certain fraud, intentional misconduct, personal injury, or statutory consumer rights.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, while preserving any mandatory consumer rights in the user’s country or state.

15. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the service.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the agreement between you and Byron Bay Group LLC about Outwordly and replace earlier agreements about the service. If the website or checkout provides additional terms for a specific feature, those terms apply to that feature as well.
